CFO of Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences
The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, a not-for-profit organization in fundamental sciences,
seeks a new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who can restructure this organization
for the new millennium.
Central government has less funding/budget for fundamental sciences –
the organization has to seek new ways of funding and to align these flows
of money to a substantial level.
After an orientation phase the whole organization has been restructured –
a modern financial organisation has been introduced within the organization.
The financial function was centralized and new functions as Treasury,
Operational Audit and Consultancy were established.
In view of risk control, systems control was positioned in an independent
role in the Finance organization.
The staffing of the controllers position were reviewed and there were necessary
changes were made. Education is offered to the middle and high management
to get a mutual understanding and knowledge of Finance.
